Choosing a uPVC Window Maker in Kashmir: 10 Questions to Ask

In short
Ask any uPVC window maker which profile system they use, whether steel is fitted inside, how corners are joined, what glass and hardware are included, who measures and who fits, what the written quotation lists, and how after-sales visits work. Clear, specific answers are a good sign.
Whether you are building new or replacing old windows, you are choosing more than a product; you are choosing the people who will measure, make and fit something you will live with for a long time. These questions work with anyone, including us.
1. Which profile system do you use?
Ask for the brand and the profile family by name. We fabricate mainly on VEKA systems and write the profile family into every quotation. Read more: what is inside a uPVC window.
2. Is there steel inside the frame?
Galvanised steel reinforcement keeps long frames and sashes straight. Ask whether it is fitted, and in which parts.
3. How are the corners joined?
Fusion-welded corners have no joint for air or water to find.
4. What glass is included?
Single, double glazed, laminated or frosted, and in which rooms. See double glazing explained.
5. What hardware is fitted?
Handles, hinges, multipoint locks and rollers matched to each window. Ask for the brand.

6. Who measures?
Someone should come to your site and measure every opening before anything is made.
7. Who fits, and how is the frame sealed to the wall?
The fitting decides whether a good window performs. Ask who fits it, how it is fixed and packed, and how the gap to the wall is sealed.
8. What does the written quotation list?
Every opening, with type, size, glass, hardware, finish and price, and whether removal of old frames and sealing are included.
9. Can I see your work?
Ask for photos of finished houses, or the address of a job near you. Look through our gallery.
10. What happens after fitting?
Who do you call if a handle is stiff or a sash needs adjusting? How quickly can they come?
Questions people ask
What is the difference between a uPVC fabricator and a dealer?
A fabricator cuts, welds and assembles windows from profiles in its own plant. A dealer sells windows made by someone else. Both can work; ask who actually makes and fits your windows.
How do I know if a quote is good value?
Compare the same specification: profile system, steel reinforcement, glass, hardware, finish and fitting. A cheaper quote often differs in one of these.
Can I visit your plant?
Yes. Message us before you come so someone is free to show you round.
