uPVC Window Price in Kashmir: What Actually Decides the Cost

A full upper floor of white uPVC windows on a Kashmir house

In short

A uPVC window is priced mainly by its size (usually worked out per square foot) and then by what goes into it: the opening type, the profile system, the glass, the hardware and the finish. The quickest way to an accurate price is to send the size of each opening, then let the fabricator measure on site before a written quotation.

“How much for a window?” is the first question almost everyone asks us, and it is a fair one. The honest answer is that it depends on the window. Here is exactly what it depends on, so you can compare quotes properly and avoid surprises.

1. Size comes first

uPVC windows are usually priced by area: the width times the height of the opening, normally in square feet. A large living-room window costs more than a small bathroom one simply because there is more frame and more glass in it.

That is why every fabricator asks for sizes first. Our quote form adds up the area of all your openings as you type them in.

Rough sizes give you an estimate. The final price follows an on-site measurement.

2. How it opens

A fixed pane is the simplest thing to make. An opening sash adds a second frame, hinges or rollers, locking hardware and more gaskets. So, roughly from simpler to more involved:

  1. Fixed glass
  2. Sliding windows (2, 2.5 or 3 track)
  3. Casement and top-hung windows
  4. Tilt-and-turn windows
  5. Doors, then specialty doors such as slide and fold

3. The profile system

This is the part people often cannot see in a quote. Profiles differ in wall thickness, number of chambers and depth, and in whether galvanised steel reinforcement is fitted inside. We fabricate on VEKA profiles and write the profile family into every quotation.

4. The glass

  • Single glass: the lowest cost, for stores and unheated spaces.
  • Double glazing (DGU): two panes with a sealed cavity. The usual choice for heated rooms in Kashmir. See double glazing explained.
  • Laminated: for safety and sound, for example rooms facing a busy road.
  • Frosted: for bathrooms and privacy.

5. Hardware, mesh and grille

Handles, hinges, multipoint locks and rollers are matched to the window type and sash weight. Insect mesh and grilles add to the price, and so do Georgian bars.

6. Finish

Classic white is the standard. Woodgrain finishes (golden oak, rustic oak and mahogany) cost more. Approve a physical sample first.

7. Fitting

A good window badly fitted is still a cold window. Make sure the quote covers removing old frames if needed, fixing, packing and sealing the frame to the wall, and checking every sash at handover.

How to get an accurate price quickly

  1. Count your openings and note the room for each.
  2. Measure roughly (width and height) or take a photo of each opening with a tape across it.
  3. Decide the basics: which rooms need double glazing, mesh or frosted glass.
  4. Send it to us on WhatsApp or through the quote form. We reply with a first estimate.
  5. We measure on site and give you a written quotation with every opening listed.

Why we do not publish a price list

Two windows with the same size can differ a lot in what goes into them, and a price list invites comparing a basic window with a well-made one. We would rather give you a clear written price for your actual openings, with the profile, glass and hardware named, so you know exactly what you are paying for.

Questions people ask

How is the price of uPVC windows calculated?

Mostly by area (width times height, usually in square feet), adjusted for the type of opening, the profile system, the glass, the hardware, the finish and the installation.

Why do two quotes for the same windows look so different?

They are often not for the same windows. Check the profile system, steel reinforcement, glass type, hardware brand, finish and whether fitting and sealing are included.

Do you give a price on WhatsApp?

Yes. Send rough sizes or a photo of each opening and we reply with a first estimate. The final price follows our site measurement and a written quotation.
