Casement windows
The sash is hinged at the side and swings open, and closes onto a gasket that runs all the way round the frame. It is the window most Kashmiri bedrooms and living rooms need: easy to open wide in summer, pulled tight against the frame when Chillai Kalan sets in.

Should my casement open inward or outward?
Outward opening keeps the room clear and is the usual choice in Kashmir. Inward opening suits upper floors where you want to clean the glass from inside. We agree this with you room by room before we make anything.
Can I replace my old wooden windows with casements?
Yes. We measure each old opening, take the wooden frame out and fit the new uPVC frame to the wall, then seal the gap round it. Send us a photo of the window and its rough size to start.
How do I get a price for my windows?
WhatsApp us your rough sizes, or a photo of each opening with a tape across it, and tell us where the house is. We send a first estimate on WhatsApp, then measure on site and give a written quotation before anything is made.
Will uPVC windows stop condensation completely?
No window can promise that. Condensation depends on how much moisture is in the room, how cold the glass surface is and how the room is ventilated. Double glazing keeps the inside pane warmer and good seals stop draughts, but ventilation still matters, especially with a bukhari, hamam or kitchen.
